Selfnet has the option of providing a free Wi-Fi network at larger events and parties in the buildings of the dormitory network. The WLAN network is broadcast via the existing Selfnet WLAN infrastructure in the dormitories and outdoor areas. The Wi-Fi network is provided in cooperation with Freifunk Stuttgart. The Wi-Fi traffic collected by Selfnet is transferred to Freifunk via a powerful VPN offloader. Organizers can be provided with information posters explaining the use of WLAN to visitors to the event.
If you would also like to have a free Wi-Fi network at your event, you can request this from Selfnet at support@selfnet.de. Selfnet will then decide on an individual basis whether to provide the network depending on the technical conditions and the type and size of the event. If possible, we ask for a direct request from the organizer, e.g. a Tutorium.
